CROATIAN BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION - app for Croatian basketball fans
The official Croatian basketball app is covering all the leagues, junior competitions and a national team.
Croatia has a long tradition of basketball successes. If you only think of legendary teams from the 80s and 90s, you could say that they owned European basketball for few years. Cibona Zagreb was a European champion for 1985 and 1986, and Jugoplastika Split for three consecutive years - 1989, 1990, 1991. Well, creating a good mobile app for Croatian Basketball Association is therefore a heavy responsibility.
We have given our best and connected to number of channels, in order to give basketball fans in Croatia all information under their fingers.
Starting from the basketball leagues, we are connecting to Genius Sports API, in order to import all the games, results, standings, and stats. By working with their live API, we are also able to show not only results in real-time, when games are played, but also full game stats, boxscore, and even play-by-play. Before the start of the game, you will be able to tap on its link to check forthcoming details and stat leaders from each team, while during and after the match, boxscore will show data relevant to the game in progress / completed.
If you want to follow your club, turn on live notifications, and it will probably be the third best way to follow the game - you will receive a push notification at the beginning of the match and it will then update on your screen with information of what is happening on the court, without receiving new notification for every update.
Besides live results, we are importing all the important news that HKS creates - these are then categorized into categories like leagues, woman/man basketball, junior competitions, national teams, etc. As they are creating videos for their Youtube channel, named "Hrvatska košarka", these are imported to the app as soon as they are published. Fans are able to turn on/off notifications for each category, both for news and for live results.
Teams are presented through full rosters, with each player's stats pulled from Genius Sports API. One interesting thing for fans is the social feed on the app's homepage - currently, app is showing everything HKS publishes on its Twitter account, but there are plans to expand this in the future.
